When I first found Pilates, I was looking for relief from chronic back pain. What I found instead was something I've stayed with ever since.
I began my training at Upward Spiral Studio in Cambridge and became certified through Peak Pilates in 2011. Over the years I've worked with a wide range of people: athletes, those recovering from injury, new mothers, and older adults. Every person brought something different into the room.
What I've learned is this. Pilates is not about perfection. It's about paying attention. It's about learning how to move again with clarity and trust. It's about building strength that holds up outside the studio.
In 2019, I opened The Classical Pilates Room to create a space for that kind of work. Small. Focused. Personal. No rush. No distractions. Just consistent work, done well.
